Artist Statement

I admire the grace and strength required of yoga, but am not a slave to imitating the human figure.  In my steel work, I exaggerate features of yoga poses and abstract them. I desire for the viewer to appreciate the mental calmness and physical tension one experiences simultaneously while performing these poses. Recently, I have been drawn back to silkscreen while experimenting with fabric on steel. I have moved from the monumental to more intimate expression with my prints, but both live side by side in my work.
